Floridians Deserve Better: Why Blaise Ingoglia’s Appointment Fails Homeowners

Governor Ron DeSantis’ decision to appoint State Senator Blaise Ingoglia as Florida’s Chief Financial Officer on July 16, 2025, represents a clear betrayal of Florida homeowners who are crying out for meaningful insurance reform. This appointment is a slap in the face to every Floridian struggling with skyrocketing premiums, claim denials, and predatory practices by insurance companies. As a candidate for CFO in 2026, my campaign is built on a foundation of Integrity, Accountability, and Florida First. I am running to restore the Department of Financial Services into a consumer-focused agency that champions the rights of policyholders, cracks down on corporate abuse, and remains free from the corrupting influence of special interests. Blaise Ingoglia’s track record makes him fundamentally unfit to hold this office, and his appointment signals a continuation of policies that have devastated Florida’s middle class and working families.

As a Public Adjuster with years of firsthand experience, I have witnessed the catastrophic harm caused by an insurance system rigged against the homeowner. Low-income families and senior citizens are the hardest hit when insurance companies delay, underpay, or outright deny legitimate claims, especially after hurricanes and other disasters. I have built my career standing up for these families, helping them rebuild their lives, and I am now taking that fight to Tallahassee. My campaign is not a political vanity project; it is a mission to end the cycle of corruption, ensure homeowners receive the full value of their policies, and restore transparency and accountability to the Chief Financial Officer’s office. Blaise Ingoglia, however, has chosen a different path, one that has consistently favored insurance companies over the very people he was elected to represent.

The evidence is overwhelming. As Chair of the Senate Banking and Insurance Committee, Ingoglia was a leading voice for the disastrous 2022 and 2023 legislative packages that decimated consumer protections. These bills gutted prevailing attorney fees, limited policyholders' ability to hold carriers accountable in court, and falsely promised premium reductions that never materialized. Floridians were told these changes would stabilize the market; yet, premiums have continued to soar, while claims remain unpaid. Worse still, Ingoglia championed the 2023 legislation allowing Citizens Property Insurance Corporation to force homeowners into mandatory arbitration through the Division of Administrative Hearings, a tribunal where, to no surprise, Citizens has won all but two cases. This rigged system denies homeowners a fair hearing, forces them into a process controlled by government-appointed judges, and strips away their fundamental right to seek justice before a jury of their peers.

The Department of Financial Services is supposed to serve as the watchdog for consumers, the steward of state funds, and the regulator of the insurance market. It is a role of tremendous responsibility that demands independence, integrity, and courage. Blaise Ingoglia does not represent any of these values. His leadership of a political committee that funneled millions to Ron DeSantis' failed presidential campaign speaks volumes about where his loyalties lie, firmly with political insiders and industry donors, not with struggling homeowners. Meanwhile, I have committed to refusing a single penny from insurance company lobbyists or industry groups, ensuring that my loyalty remains with the people of Florida. As CFO, I will push for the creation of the Florida Insurance Licensing and Oversight Board, reclaim control over Citizens Property Insurance, and end the abuse of arbitration that denies homeowners their day in court.

Floridians need a CFO who will immediately take action to address the rampant abuses in the insurance industry, not one who will spend months repaying political favors and protecting corporate donors. Blaise Ingoglia has already proven where his priorities lie, including his disgraceful effort in 2023 to abolish the Florida Democratic Party, a political stunt that prioritized headlines over problem-solving. This is not the leadership Florida needs. We need a CFO who will get to work on day one, addressing the real issues that impact Floridians: unaffordable premiums, abusive claims practices, and the corporate corruption rotting away at our insurance system. As a veteran, I understand what it means to serve, and as a Public Adjuster, I understand how to fight for homeowners. That is the leadership I will bring.

This appointment serves as a defining moment for Florida. The voters will soon have a choice: continue with Blaise Ingoglia’s brand of pay-to-play politics and insurer-friendly policies, or choose leadership that is rooted in transparency, integrity, and consumer protection. I stand ready to fight for every homeowner in this state, to advocate for the families being crushed by unjust premiums, and to restore fairness to a broken system. My campaign is not just about talk; it is about real solutions, reforming the Department of Financial Services, overhauling the insurance market, empowering consumers, and holding every carrier, including Citizens, fully accountable. Blaise Ingoglia’s appointment might fill a temporary vacancy, but it is my candidacy that will give Floridians a lasting voice, an independent advocate, and a CFO who puts people over politics.
